Smells like a lawsuit

I figured everything that sends you an “ad” for some shyt is spying on you and collecting personal “data” just to target you with capitalist bullshyt.

Collecting and selling personal data should’ve ALWAYS been illegal.

Normally, I don’t connect my TV’s to the internet because of this. I always click “Do Not Sell or Share Personal Information” on anything whether it’s connected or not.

But if you use anything Google then you should definitely know this by now. It’s a reason I hate using Google anything. Amazon Alexa and anything with a microphone and voice controls is probably trying to listen to you.

But you should assume anything sending ads is collecting data. shyt is weird af and I hate ads/advertising/commercials. The Snowden shyt exposed this too

If you’re using a browser or TV as an external monitor doing important shyt then :francis:

How else you gone stream :dahell:
A streaming device :dahell:

An Xbox, PS5, Roku, Firestick, etc

He said your TV is taking snapshots, not the streaming device. Don’t connect your TV to your WiFi, just the streaming device.

Edit: You can even use your laptop or a computer that acts as a streaming server.

As long as your actual TV isn’t connected to the internet then it can’t send your data. And you still have the option of clicking don’t send my personal data.

This is the shyt people need to know about. I actually was in some class action lawsuit with vizio over that shyt. I only got offered 17 dollar as a result of that shyt.

The case was VIZIO Inc., Consumer Privacy Litigation, No. 8:16-ml-02693-JLS in California.

But honestly these tv always been created for purposes of controlling people by the powers that be though.

Ppl been saying this for years.
Shoo they said the 3 letter agencies get those images of us too.

Ionno but this has been happening forever.

My old TVs are still going strong so I’m not as concerned because they haven’t been updated in a bit, but yea they’ve been connected to my wifi from jump so :francis:

I saw a clip where a family finally looked at the Alexa log and it had recorded everything they said, not just "Alexa" commands. It's Amazon so of course it's to do the most while providing the least.

Very true. I remember in the mid 2000s when they started putting webcams in laptops and people would put a piece of paper over it because the @Feds were watching lol.

Now they come with a build-in slide to block the camera, which is funny cause it's the microphones that need to be blocked.
