Being honest. Before I thought he was a genius business man. I used to watched the apprentice and whatever decision Trump made I was like :ehh: if Trump says so. :yeshrug:

Now I see him as guy that would not pass a high school equivalence test. Dead serious. This guy not qualified to run anything.

Where are you from?

I only ask, because I have this unproven theory that only people outside of major cities considered Trump to be a genius businessman - being that major cities are home to media outlets, television studios, celebrities and other things that make it easy for us to see through reality-tv bullsh*t.

Outside of a city, maybe people were like wow, Trump. I can't speak for anyone else, but I always saw him as a personality and "clownish" ever since I was a kid in the 90s, more than some genius businessman. Like, when we used to talk riches and genius, maybe guys like Bill Gates/Cuban/Musk/Buffett and others, but Trump was more of a sideshow IMO.

Maybe Im in the minority on this one.

As a life long New Yorker I've got to watch his life basically unfold in front of me. I always thought he was a snake oil salesmen who was born into money and real estate connections, he was a modern day PT Barnum. I never thought he was a business genius nor did I think he was a moron. With his presidency everything is about the same except for the being a moron, he as dumb as a stump with the intellectual curiosity of a 2x4. He has the temperament similar to my 2 year old son only difference being is Trump is able to articulate himself better...slightly.

Never thought much of him as a business man simply because he hid behind bankruptcy so much. I voted for the Bern.

I originally thought that him winning the election would shake up the political system so bad that the corruption, filibusters, kickbacks and party over country politics would open the eyes of this country and restore pride in the republic and take us off the fast track of self destruction. But seeing his first week, I knew the longer in office, the more unrepairable harm he was going to do.

The only real upside is that a lot more people are paying more attention to politics and who is doing what. Only time will tell how long before the numbness or complacency kicks back in.

He's a fukk boy now and I knew he was a fukk boy then.

Growing up in NYC, as other posters have pointed out, allows you to see first hand just how much of a fukkboy this dude is.

And it boggles my mind that this cat has convinced 45% of this country that he is not only a successful businessman but that he's also religious and gives a fukk about anyone who isn't in his tax bracket.

They voted for a dude that epitomizes the idea of the rich guy taking money out of the poor guys pockets so that he could do it legally with the backing of the federal government :russ:

About the same as it always was. Never watched his stupid show and was unfamiliar with his spawn. Those quivering-lipped little shyts from his first wife are something terrible.

Growing up, he was always considered a joke, in my eyes. As a kid, I knew him as a bankrupt, tacky, class-less bullshytter with bad hair (and this was way before The Apprentice, which I've never seen). Now I know he's even worse than that.

I think one factor that gets lost regarding Trump is that he's 70 years old. Whatever it was that he had that made him seemingly successful in the business world has turned into a caricature given his age.

Add that to the fact that the skills which makes someone successful in private real estate are drastically different than those needed for public service...US President especially...and you get someone who cant help but come off as an utter buffoon by acting like he has for the past 50 years.

Try and tell someone who has experienced undeniable success (in his eyes) for 50 years to change up his ways :francis:
