It's bad... but Talib Kweli holds the record for the worst and cringe-worthy punchlines ever. I'm still amazed this guy has fans. Do people listen to his writing? He will try to kick knowledge but sprinkle awful simple minded "punchlines" in the mix of it all and ruin it.
I like it.
Of course it's kind of goofy and sounds weird out of context but it serves a purpose almost as a grounding statement for a spiritual experience. As advanced and sophisticated that we think we are (Lupe included...Lupe especially) we are still human and often use those "smarts" to our detriment, regardless of how pretty and pretentious we dress it up.
