I believe doechii, I’m on vacation in Europe now and that shyt is everywhere.

YouTube is very global and also very algorithmic. Coolios song has 1.8 billion views. We talking more than God’s plan in the same amount of times

The algo loves such things, especially if some relevant event happened

I imagine YouTube isn’t tracking anywhere near the same way as Spotify or Apple Music is.

YouTube wants to be three things in one. A long form video host, a short form video host (like TikTok), and a music service. Who knows exactly what they’re counting. For instance Doechii and Meeks high numbers could be inflated by social media trends over the past few months.

I say for now at least, Spotify is probably the best way to see how music is actually being engaged.

Coolio has 251 million monthly listeners? Whut?

:birdman:

I mean, no disrespect to Coolio, but it would have to be mostly off Gangster’s Paradise. And even though that is a popular song, and it’s YouTube not Spotify, there’s just no way.

:duck:
It's definitely believable

Gangsta's Paradise had a billion views before he died. White people love that song:russ:
