I know I'm not the only one confused by this. According to Nintendo, the Zelda timeline was split into 3 branches after Ocarina. I seriously thought they just made it up as they went along. What's your take?

They did make it up but we pressed them on making some sort of timeline and this is what they've come up with. The mythos of Hyrule should be larger than it is currently

(Didn't watch 40 minute video) Zelda Timeline is Metal Gear Solid story status to me. I'm sure somewhere down the line deep down the rabbit hole it has the possibility to make sense...but that's hard to tell knowing most of the continuation/timeline shyt is just made up anyways and they didn't plan for this shyt.


I prefer the idea that it's just a bunch of different Link's in different universes.

always thought they were a series of "legends" hence the title..

Long story short the series was just supposed to be legends with no real storyline. Even one of the devs from zelda 2 said they didn't add actual story until the last minute

I thought it was a bunch of alternate universes, like a Windwakerverse, Alinktothepastverse, Ocarinaverse etc.
