Ive read multiple threads about it happening since joining the forum. India is a huge country, and I dont know how far the different schools are from the capital city.
But I'm certain that each African country has a consular office in India, and should give orientation sessions and emergency contacts to their students studying there.

Somebody from that office should have traveled to the location of the killing, and held a press conference to turn up the heat on the cops

Since they likely didnt, the African students had to band together to apply pressure.
