Rule number if you want to know about Cuba and Haiti never listen to Miami herald as some source of information/ history on those nations. Miami Herald is pro US imperialism in both of those nation.

Wikileaks show the main Miami herald Haitian journalists was linked up with Hilary Clinton

America and France keeps them on a leash. A second revolution wouldn't work due to lack of weapons, support, money, and leadership.

Thinking about Haiti just makes me depressed

Every single time. All of the western and major European powers have their feet on Haiti's neck and refuse to let up. It is one of the few of African descent history that I detest reading about.

Personally I love this model. It’s the idea that it doesn’t matter where an individual chooses to settle, that they can make it theirs and control it/shape it as they please. The people in this clip obviously don’t give a damn that the locals aren’t their own people. And I think it’s an idea that black people, in general, are behind on. :patrice:

We harp on Africa, Caribbean, etc but the whole world is technically available. Hell, it dawned on me a while back that individual black nations (or wealthy blacks) could form their own sphere’s of influence globally. There are whole islands in the pacific and Indian Ocean with less GDP than Haiti that Haitians could influence. Hell, if we are being honest, a Robert Smith or Aiko Dangote could outright buy the capital cities of several central Asian nations if they put their minds to it.:manny:

This has been an idea for me for a while. Stack up money here and move to another corrupt poor country. We could be like the jews are in America if we move strategically enough. The main problem with this is, black peoples moral compass is too high and nikkas overall lack the ruthlessness to really pull it off:yeshrug:.

The big difference is that other groups automatically shut us out of getting any type of money in their countries. I can’t find any Black person that successful built their wealth in a non Black nation outside of the US. But I'm down with us being more strategic and ruthless by shutting out other groups from making money in African nations. Too many of us operate in this color blind fantasy world but are quick to sabatoge each other from making money.

Above the fray.
“Donate” to both parties, so it doesn’t matter who wins the coup Brehs.:usure:

For real, @Get These Nets , we have low key had the best teachers in the world for maneuvering those sort of environments. They gave us the play book. Now it’s just a matter of Copy-paste-repeat.:yeshrug:
The concept of there being two sides is an American one because of the two party system.

At any given time, there are several competing factions for power in developing countries.

Groups opposing the party that backs the president might form alliances but those are temporary.

Really long money and int. connections can insulate you from the fallout, but the average person will just get bogarted out of their property and holdings.
My paternal grandfather, and people from maternal great grand level of my family had property seized from them by the govt. No "eminent domain" or compensation or anything. Not even because of coup d'etats.

I was giving that poster a heads up, about the unstable nature of "poor corrupt" countries.

In the words of another Haitian American.
