Right. Terry and Kidd were also over the hill etc etc.

Never take it for granted Brad Stevens is a great coach.
Kidd shot 35% & Terry shot 37% from 3, what's your point? :stopitslime:

Bron clearly wasn't aggressive & was tryna feed everybody else then shots stopped falling & the Celtics, Marcus Smart mainly got hot.. it aint that deep & isnt happening again... :russell:

honestly.. this was good for the Cavs. Celtics played with heart and Cavs thought they were just going to walk through and get the win easily. I was more thrilled that the Celtics just COMPETED. Once Lebron engages himself, they will still get washed but Celtics did what they had to do to not be looked at as bums
if they would of won yall wouldnt be sayin this clown shyt...

This exactly.

Lebron's major "fault" has ALWAYS been his overwillingless to let his teammates cook when one or more of them is having s great stretch. This isn't a lack of "killer instinct" so much is it is simply Bron following his instinct of what good "team ball" is. Lebron understands that the Cavs ONLY chance to win the title is for his TEAM to play well while he leads. For all the talk of Bron going Super Saiyan we know that over potentially 7 games that's not a sustainable level of play (against a team like GS) so Lebron is still content with Love once in awhile remembering he used to be a legit double double main guy in MN and Kyrie know he's capable of taking over a game, I mean look at tonight

TT had a GREAT game
Love had a GREAT first half and an aight second half
Kyrie had a GOOD game with a GREAT late game stretch
JR showed up to play
Shump and Korver had decent showings

They got to that 20 point lead and Bron just switched it off, thinking this would be one of those games where TEAM BALL proved its dominance. I bet he was already rehearsing his post game praises for TT and Kyrie, coupled with a healthy lack of respect for the Celtic's chances without IT. And like Charles said it was the PERFECT blend for an upset once the Celts went the "go down fighting" route and Smart unleashed his inner G.

Bron can't take NO nights off, for ANY reason, and I'm glad tonight hipped him to that fact. He's GOT to keep the "on" switch ready to go at a moment's notice. That doesn't mean don't trust Kyrie and the gang or let them have their moments, but it DOES mean that YOU are the best player on earth for a reason and the other teams aren't scared of any of those players. They are scared of YOU and you've gotta keep your foot on the gas
that's nice and all and you're right he cant have no nights off that doesnt mean that he wont or his teammates won't when the finals come around it's cool that tonight "hipped" him to that fact.... you'd think he woulda learned this by now...but fact remains all that shyt won't stop him from getting his wig pushed back by golden state salute

Shout out to Jerebko or whatever his name is for trying to compete. He said it right, they were giving the Lebrons TOO MUCH RESPECT.

They're a great team yes, but you have to compete. Every cat on the celtics was the man at they're respected teams in HS and college. He went in and talked shyt, started problems, basically brought that competitive energy to these cats and let them know this won't be as easy as you thought

People neglect heart imo when dealing with anything in sports. If you have heart and is not willing to go out like a bytch, you can defeat a team that is unrealistically impossible to beat.

Thats the 90's shyt that most of us old heads want to see. Thats the shyt that make MJ and Kobe fans consider them great for. They played against cats that are willing to do whatever it takes to win and even if they did lose, you always respected their competitive nature.

It's why you see 39 year old Ginobli still making plays at his age. Dude is a competitor and will do whatever it takes to win even if he comes up short.

Jerebko understands that imo. Talk that shyt and back it up even if you coming off the bench. People forget that Jason Terry did the same shyt when he was on the Mavs.

The problem with the characteristic of "heart" is if the other team possess it AND talent, aint no amount of heart going to make up that deficit. Outside of that I generally agree you have to have a competitive pride and integrity, even if you know the other person/team is better. It wont make up for skill/talent, but it does make your opponent have to put forth some modicum of focus.

the issue is that really talented people a lot of times lack heart...because they have been able to get by for so long on talent alone.

Lebron had one of his passive games. It happens from time to time.Love/Irving were on fire,so Lebron decided to defer(save his legs/energy).Unfortunately,cleveland becomes vulnerable when Lebron plays this style of basketball. If Irving/Love are the main options on offense,it means they're playing heavy minutes.Which means,a poorer defensive unit is on the floor for longer stretches.Every playoff game prior to game 3 Lebron was aggressive. He took 20+ shots in 8 of 10 games. And in the two games he took less than 20 shots,he averaged 18.5 free throw attempts. When Lebron is aggressive the cavs are nearly unbeatable.Lebron needs to keep his foot on the gas and finish boston off.He can get his rest when the series is over.I put this lost squarely on the back of Lebron.

"This is the 2nd time in LeBron James' playoff career that he played the entire 4th quarter and scored no points. He also did it in Game 4 of the 2011 NBA Finals against the Mavericks. It's the first time he was held scoreless playing the 4th quarter at home since 2006 when he did it against the Wizards.

While i dont disagree, there is alot of arm chair psychology when it comes to sports especially polarizing figures like Lebron. Sports journalism or should I say tabloids basically function as media rags to push narratives and sensationalism. Used correctly it compliments writing/media well, but the majority of media is based around that fact almost solely. So as result we have the Skip Bayless type echo chamber that reverberates in sports culture and becomes part of the fan collective group think.

Has Lebron failed on the big stage sure, is it due to him having no "heart" or being scared only he truly knows that. I would hope since hes been doing this since a teenager he would know how to harness anxiety in tense moment appropriately. If I had to guess what is been the biggest culprit is he allows himself to "think" about tense situations instead of playing on instinct and anticipation as he normally does and what makes him Lebron.

He has the gift like J.Kidd or Nash to see moves/plays ahead, but I think he gets in his own way sometimes cause he overthinks and blocks the natural way think flows for him. Whether that is because hes overly concerned about criticism or failure, only he knows. But I dont believe its fear in the sense of not wanting to be in the moment and wanting to remove himself, but just the incessant overthinking.

The say some people with his type of savant type gift for things can be overly critical of themselves, you see signs of that with him with how much he tinkers with his shooting form and free throw form. Even when he find something that works, hes quick to change to something more familiar once he has a few mistakes with the new form.
