Chimaev would have the best shot at Usman but his takedown defense hasn't really been tested yet
He's a nightmare matchup for Usman, even if Kamaru could take him down it wouldn't be easy atall and Colby exposed you can gas Kamaru if you make him work like that.

He compensates for it well but Usmans knees are gone, he cannot do road work and if you watch majority of his training footage he's always wearing knee pads because he has almost no cartilage in his knees.
I can see retirement in the next year or two

Leon Edwards is fighting Jorge in a month. If he wins that he's getting the next shot. That would be 10 wins in 11 fights with the other being an NC. That would be complete bullshyt to pass over him

Khamzat has one win over someone with a pulse and even then Li got dominated by Neil Magny a few fights ago. Why the fukk is he even being mentioned?
Because no one believes in Edward as a threat, it's pretty simple :heh:

Edwards gets in his own way most of the time. shyt... he even turned down the opportunity to weigh in this weekend as an alternate for the title shot if Colby fell out (Vicente Luque took that opportunity instead). Edwards turned down fighting Colby late in 2020, he turned down another title shot against Usman back on Fight Island in 2020, etc..

then when he finally did start accepting fights the first one was against a borderline top-15 fighter (Belal Muhammad) and he kept poking him in the eye which resulted in a no contest. then, he went against BMF, double digit loss Nate Diaz ... in a fight that he clearly won on the scorecards, but all everyone will ever remember is that Diaz had him finished in the final minute of that fight. ..... just saying, Edwards doesn't help his own cause.

He hasnt been beat since he lost to Usman and has never been finished. :manny:
Oh I know, Edwards definitely deserve a chance. He just doesn't have anything about him that makes you feel he could legit threaten Usman. and he hasn't faced any high level wrestlers to show that he can't just be smothered

I'm not saying Edwards is some huge threat but there has to be some legitimacy in the sport. I don't think anybody else ever has gone on a win streak that long without getting a shot at the belt.

Khamzat is the next white hype I get it but Jesus christ let the guy fight someone good before declaring him champion

Father time or flash ko only thing stopping Usman right now. I'm just thinking of the right order to give people their shots at the throne

which would be absolutely stupid to go through a weight cut(Edwards is a big WW) when he has a fight in a month. Taking the Usman fight on a week's notice when gyms were shut down in England due to Covid would also have been stupid. He loses that fight he would have 2 Ls to Usman, he wouldn't get another shot

cartilage deficient knees :hula: covid ravaged lungs

Even before 'rona almost ended his career, Khamzat's cardio was never truly put to the test. If he beats Kamaru, it will not be due to superior cardio.

Ok first off why would Edwards, who is not only based in London but already has a booked fight, waste money dragging his team overseas on the small possibility of a title fight? The only reason he was so inactive and turning down fights was do to the whole pandemic. The only fight He definitively turned down was Khazmet and rightly so since in what other scenario ever would a #2 ranked fighter faced someone whose unranked? And if I recall it was Colby who turned down the fight calling him leon smith or whatever corny shyt he does. Speaking of, why does Colby get to sit out a year after a shytty win over a shot Woodley but Leon gets threatened with de ranking? Colby has not proven to be any draw whatsoever despite the gimmick. It also says more about their faith in Usmans ability to draw that they have to keep shoving him in their with clowns who are overmatched. GSP headlined cards against Fitch and Shields and you can’t tell me they are more exciting then Edwards.
