15-1 in the playoffs is a harder record to break than 72-10 in the regular season.

It's hard af to win more than 72 games in the regular season, no doubt. But part of why the record stands for 20 years is because there is no incentive to break it anyway. Once you earn home court advantage throughout the playoffs, winning games is no longer important. No one gives a fukk, and rightfully so.

But in the playoffs, you want to finish off your opponent as fast as possible. Everyone wants to sweep every series. You get them out of the way, plus now you can rest for the next series. It's much more important to dominate the playoffs than the regular season. WAY more important.

Plus in the playoffs, you're playing the best the league has to offer, giving you 110% on every possession. You don't get that in the regular season. You play shyt teams, teams that tank, and players who don't want to injure themselves, so they don't go all out.

Breaking the 2001 Lakers' 15-1 record is harder than breaking the 96 Bulls. 73 wins won't be that big a deal since they will still have 0 playoff wins at that time anyway. But if the GSW go 16-1, they are the undisputed GOAT. Without a doubt. If they lose a bunch of playoff games en route to the title, they still can't be considered one of the GOAT. The regular season just is not as much a pressure cooker than the playoffs are.

I'll hardly be impressed when they get 73. But I will  :lawd: if they go 16-1.

15-1 is pretty insane when you think about it too. Not trying to take anything away from 73-9 though. Cali teams > .

But if the Warriors finish 73-9 and get 16-1, nobody is beating that for a long time. The league would practically have to be set up for them.

That lakers record is amazing.

And so is Iverson for being the one in 15-1.

Additionally it's not the Lakers record

They share that with the 82-83 Sixers who also only lost one game in the playoffs

Thanks to the prophet Moses
:blessed:

Difference being they didn't play that best of 3 first round back then
but finished the regular season 65-17
Where as the 00-01 Lakers were 56-26 so..

You could surmise if the did play the first round they would've blanked whoever they faced there also

#8 seed, then 16-0>>>> 73 wins, then 16-12.
