People forget cops train to subdue assailants with lethal weapons sans guns without using a service firearm to render them neutralized.
Nah.... that aint policy my dude...

what police department are you talking about that trains officers to use non lethal devices on a suspect armed with a lethal weapon?

It is realistic. He had enough time to talk commands lol.....come on breh....stop it. You aim at the feet. He had atleast 8 bullets and he is a trained shooter. You aim at the feet.

Yall giving the cop a pass on this? I'm not tryna confrontational. But that cop is trained to shoot and hit a target. He could've shot at the ground.

It's not realistic, your trained to shoot center mass not at no damn feet or legs

This aint a movie dog

The warning was him saying back up or im gonna shoot you

"....shows the teen charging at a deputy with a sharp gardening tool on a 5-foot pole."

Again...police are trained to do neutralization tactics to subdue assailants without use of firearms.

The cop could've shot the teens foot as he had time to speak and aim and shoot.
No they are not. They are trained to shoot center mass if there is a threat to your life. Based on Their training he did right. It's sad no matter what.

That's why I'm calling the cop a coward for shooting a skinny ass 15 yr old as he had a considerable amount of space between him and the child based on how the article is written and the description of the body cam. If you have time to bark orders and aim and shoot you can aim at non lethal parts to subdue a violent assailant. He had to run at the officer. You shoot at them feet.
Breh, cops dont train to shoot to legs or arms. Wtf are you even talking about? Theyre trained to shoot in the chest and keep shooting until the target is down and not even that will stop some of them from mag dumping a dude.

That's not how fire arm training works and that's for a reason

Your not trained to shoot arms and legs because that kinda shyt will get you killed. There were will be a hole in the floor where a foot was and a hole in your body from some decides to kill you with. You are trained to shoot center mass, to stop a moving target before it stops you.

We are all telling you this because nobody wants you walking out the door with unrealistic expectations, and not seeing tomorrow because of that. It is very important to know what police can and cant do to you. In this case, Its unfortunate that a young kid lost his life buthave I been given evidence that the officer did something wrong.... not yet.

You clearly have not been educated on firearm usage as well as grossly overestimate the amount of police training in firearms. A cop is just required to hit paper 5 times at a distance of 3 yards, 5 yards and 10 yards. Once or twice a year. This is for a standard police officer. Not swat, not a special force or unit. I go to the range more and shoot more often that 90% of police officers and so do most people with gun range memberships. 15 shots to qualify. That's it.

It's incredibly hard to hit a moving target, let alone the extremities of a moving target. You shoot at center mass because it's the largest area, you don't shoot for the legs or a hand or a foot. Your significantly less likely to get a hit and the first rule of firearm safety is to know what's in front, behind and to the sides of your target. The second being doing ever shoot at anything you aren't trying to destroy.

You dont shoot to wound, to injure, to obtain compliance. It's supposed to be a last resort to end a threat. Not a bargaining chip or negotiation tool.

There is no such thing as a warning shot. That shyt is in tv and in movies. You don't shoot in the air because bullets land somewhere. If a bullet comes down on your house and hits your grandma or hits your car, then what? You don't shoot at the ground because on solid surfaces the bullet is going to fragment and the shrapnel will injure you. You don't have time to run into a grassy area or find a mound of leaves or something soft and absorbent that'll retain a bullet.

Repped.

Say it again for the dumb dudes sitting in the back. :gucci:

Anyone with any type of military/paramilitary training will tell you you don't aim at anything other than center mass and/or the head. In the Air Force those are the only targets that count for quals, the targets don't even go past the waist to include legs and feet. (I'm guessing the other armed forces are in the same boat.)

Legally, military brehs can't even take "warning shots" like that. You ask someone to stop and if they don't comply, they get put down.

As for frequency, yeah, most rates/AFSCs/MOS don't have folks shoot more than once a year, if that. Unless you're a cop or an operator, you're prolly not going to the range unless you're deploying. :skip:

fukk is a fat coli dude that couldn't pass a military or police fitness test telling folks to aim for extremities for? :mjlol: That fake crip bytch was right, these coli nikkas own zero firearms. :dead:

This thread brought out a lot of folks who never post. :mjpls:

With that said the family was rolling the dice every time they involved the cops. While there are many police who show restraint in situations a sizable amount don't. I would have developed a plan to restrain him when he started having an episode. Easier said than done properly. But in this case it might have saved his life....

Tough situation

But Cops can’t deal with mental/autism situations like many people think they should

RIP to the kid, but allow the kid to play the video game and try to get in touch with someone who is a professional to come over and talk with him
