I actually missed the Vitor fight, and just watched it now.

I might be in the minority, but that fight could have went on.

vitor was on his way to gassing like he always does.
Did you see Holyfield go through the ropes or the way he dropped from strikes. What exactly did you need to see before admitting he was outclassed.

like whats up with these mma cats and this nationalistic shyt...lets make america great again :gucci:..please holyfield knock this fool out

shyt, that is a subject worthy of its own thread.

Trump was a promoter for Affliction MMA. They only had two cards. Vitor Belfort(the Brazilian you mentioned talking that MAGA nonsense) scored KOs in both events. His involvement in MMA has garnered him support amongst some MMA fighters the same way it has in boxing(ie Mayweather and Tyson are both Trump supporters)

A MAJOR reason for this nonsense has to be the Gracie family. It's hard to overstate their influence in MMA. Here's a hypothetical that should help point it out. Take a very important aspect of boxing...let's say footwork. Imagine if through effective marketing and whatnot, the vast majority of the boxing world was convinced that the ONLY way to learn proper footwork is to train with one particular family(or someone they've personally trained). That's basically what the Gracies have done in MMA.

Here's an article detailing some of the family's:mjpls: history, including founder Helio Gracie's ties to a fascist groups in Brazil. It's a long read, but it also goes a long way towards answering your question.

He Trains Cops. His Jiu-Jitsu Family Has Deep Ties to the Far Right.

That article is just scratching the surface. It doesn't even cover the Gracies' classist fueds with Oswaldo Fadda or luta livre...nor does it cover Rener's juelzing about Eric Garner's murder.

Man most of the punches wasn't landing at all.

He fell through the ropes on a slip from a punch he threw

the only really punch he got hit with clean was that uppercut. even after that he got up from that his legs looked fine.

I think it looked a lot worse than it reallywas.

to me it looked like holyfeild was trying to weather the storm because he new Vitor was gonna come out fast.

Holyfield did not belong in the ring dude he was wobbled from the jump.Or his ring shoes are trash. Also its obvious tje difference in speed and athleticism you must be Holyfield age or something

You don't let a 58 year old man weather the storm, that's how he ends up with bleeding on the brain. Holyfield should've never been allowed to be in there he looked horrible. He reacted to that uppercut like he got shot, and didn't respond to 15-20 punches. If you got any respect for the man you stop that shyt.

The Gracies have taken many Ls in the ring/Octagon. They never really take them in marketing/PR, though.

There'd be so many less a$$holes in MMA if their primary influences were people like Kazushi Sakuraba or Oswaldo Fadda.

they shouldn't have let him step in the ring if they wasn't going to let him fight.

I could understand if those punches were landing clean, but they wasn't.

I knew my opinion would be controversial tho

Just skimming thru these comments and the saltiness is strong with the boxing fans in this forum. If holyfield would've beat vitor, you guys would've continued on with trying to shyt on MMA lol

Two diffrent sports, two different way of fighting. At the end of the day it's still combat sports and a ufc HOF just beat a boxing HOF and they both made some money. Now let's move on..

Vitor Belfort been getting knocked out for the past 10 years and is 44 years old himself. You guys in here have tried to make the point several times over the years that even an amateur boxer can take out Any top 5 mma fighter.

Holyfield is supposed to be a legend with decades of expertise in boxing, yet a 44 yr old washed up mma fighter just made him look like an amateur

Insecure and desperate :russ: nice try fam, that's you boxing stans online ever since holyfield was put on his ass
