What the fukk are we doing? I understand building through the draft is priority, but free agency is there to patch up holes. Cam definitely needs a speedster #2 receiver and we're sitting there like ain't shyt wrong.
Just gotta hope with the 49ers and Vikings addressing WR through FA/trades that a DGB, Devante Parker or at least Jalen Strong is still there at 25.

We have Cam on Offense we don't need nothing else. Lets beef up our special teams.

CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have signed unrestricted free agent safety Kurt Coleman from the Kansas City Chiefs to a two-year contract. Coleman has made 32 career starts in five seasons while providing consistent production on special teams.
"When you watch this defense on film, it's tenacious. That's my style of play. That fits me perfectly," Coleman said. "And one of the things I was really considering was which teams are really striving to be champions? I think Carolina is building and building. I can be another piece and I can help these guys get to that next level."

Coleman believes he has the ability to earn a starting role in the Panthers' defense.

"Whatever role they want me to play I am willing to do," Coleman said. "But I think I have worked my way to be a starter. I know I can play as a starter and be very productive."

Coleman played 15 games with three starts for the Chiefs in 2014 and recorded a team-leading three interceptions. He notched 30 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery and tied for third on the team with seven special teams tackles.

Coleman spent the first four years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, appearing in 59 games with 29 starts. He tallied 239 tackles, seven interceptions and nine passes defensed and notched 34 special teams tackles.

"Kurt gives us a versatile safety who can play both spots," head coach Ron Rivera said. "He's athletic, he's intelligent and will understand the system, having worked with Sean (McDermott) before. He's a very consistent player and also adds special teams ability. That is something we've talked about improving upon, and we've made some moves this offseason looking for guys that can help us on special teams."

Added Coleman: "Whatever it takes to win – I'm that type of that guy. I'll do what we need. I want to go make that play on special teams."

Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott coached Coleman as Philadelphia's defensive coordinator when the safety made two starts as a rookie in 2010. The Eagles selected Coleman in the seventh round from Ohio State.

"Being familiar with Sean and the defensive terminology makes it a lot easier to transition," Coleman said. "It was a big decision, and I felt very comfortable coming here to this defense."

Looking for another Mike Mitchell. He has speed, but better in coverage than Mitchell

Brehs lets not be so short-sighted and over-reactionary.:whoa: I personally feel Gettlemen is a fukkboi of the highest order for what he did to our OG Smitty last offseason. However, like the breh @distinguishedNOW pointed out earlier Gettlemen is money in the draft and Im not pressed on us not making a huge FA splash.

Right now he's patching up holes slowly in the Special Teams, Oline and secondary. Re-signed alot of low key effective players for us. And he's prepping to pay Cam & Luke nicely next offseason. I feel we should let the man cook and remain patient.

Now if after the draft this nikka still ain't got Killa no weapons then I'm more than down to ride on his bytch ass :birdman:

After he picked Benji last season, he did say the only other WR he had higher rated than him was Beckham :ld:http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...tleman-odell-beckham-drafts-best-route-runner
Among Gettleman's recent ruminations, two stand out: Giants rookie Odell Beckham is head and shoulders above the rest of the rookie crop as a route runner, and Panthers rookie Kelvin Benjamin is reminiscent of a young Plaxico Burress.

At his post-draft press conference, Gettleman twice emphasized that Beckham was the only legitimate "run the entire route tree" wide receiver in the draft. In a Wednesday interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Gettleman doubled down on that statement, telling Ross Tucker that Beckham is the only rookie receiver who doesn't need route work entering the NFL.

"The college game, by and large, is really kind of a different game from ours," Gettleman explained after the draft. "You watch these receivers, they catch 120 balls and you got 60 smokescreens. And they run three routes."

Wake.
I'm still on the fix OL first, everything else second steez.

But as far as WR I honestly don't think we're going to draft a WR. We only suit up 4 WRs during the regular season each game. Benji is a definite starter, Cotchery is gonna be the "veteran guy" Ginn and/or Philly gonna be the speed/return guy. Stephen Hill is the x-factor of the group. If they believe in this dude than why even bother drafting another WR when he's younger than Benji? I wouldn't mind one more vet but I think we gotta be pulling for Stephen Hill to contribute this year more than anything else I think. I'd be straight with:
Benji & Hill on the outside
Cotchery in the slot
Ginn or Philly as the deep threat/Punt return guy

It's not sexy but if the OL is halfway decent Cam should be able to make that group work tbh.

He can ball breh. He can play all 4 positions on the D-line, and if he's focused and motivated :whew:. I just hope like hell he doesn't sign with Tampa Bay. I don't wanna see this dude twice a year.

This.

I've been an undercover Panthers fan every since Killa was drafted. So, I have watched almost ever Panthers game since 2010 and the Kraken was a beast. :wow:

Hate to see him leave Carolina but, if he goes to my Boys. :blessed:
