As bad as we wanna blame this on Islamic extremists this could easily be a gun nut turned murder who happens to be Muslim. He traveled to Saudi Arabia years ago to get married that's not that uncommon for Muslim. All the guns used were purchased by him or his old roommate 3-4 years ago. He had a dating profile that listed target practice in his backyard as one of his hobbies. If your into assault rifles chances are your probably into tactical/military gear as well. No explosives were found in the pipe bombs police are just saying they were made to look like real ones. He had an argument with a co-worker and than left dropped his kid off at his grandmothers house and returned with his wife and shot up only the people he worked with and than left. Depending on how much control he had over his wife not much planning would be needed he would just have to convince her and take his guns with him. If dude is associated with ISIS he did a poor job of giving them a shout out.

They're probably not associated with ISIS but that doesn't mean they're not extremist...Saudi Arabia is a breeding ground for infidel fakkit extremists so that's an immediate red that he flew there and found a wife...

A gun nut wouldn't convince his wife to suit up and go on a suicidal shooting spree orphaning their child just because of work beef...He'd pick up the rifle and do it solo not involving the wife...
