Absolutely not.
Sometimes I wish my father was caring and not so abrasive

The most positive thing in my life was my extremely strict upbringing.
I know how I am, and if my parents weren't so tough on me, I would have walked all over them and done whatever the fukk I wanted.

My kids getting the same treatment... but with a little more affection thrown in to balance it out.

HOWEVER, i think the way that African parents raise their daughters is WOAT levels bad.
I am not treating my daughter in any way similar to how my dad treats my sister.

My dad literally sitting there with 5 sons and 1 daugther like "....I coulda had 6... :mjcry:"

Thank "God" my parents were more or less Communist or Sudanese Communist literally. LOL Me and my sister were treated very equal to our brother.

You lucked out. My sister is a Doctor and is honeslty the most accomplished off my siblings in the financial sense (she has her own clinic) and my dad still treats her like she's some high school girl.

You like 15 so it sucks like a mothafukka right now. It kinda sucks in college too. It will get better when you like in the late 20's but then again, you are a woman, they gonna be asking you to get married and shyt and talk about getting someone from Nigeria to sent to America which WON'T work. Nigeria like us now, people got side pieces and whole wives back home and shyt. For all of the Nigerian parent, my American mother was the most strict.

LOL, They gonna want a docta, lawya or engineea. Just remember you gotta live with the dude and don't feel obligated to marry an Igbo man even though you would do best with one that's American. They get both sides of being Black and African or half. People don't realize their is a difference. You don't got freedoms, even as an adult. At the same time, you got high expectations and you don't feel barriers you can't overcome. That is what I am blessed with. I feel like both sides are fighters. My grandma on my mom's side fought white supremacy. I love her. My uncles are dope, so are my aunts. I am close with my fam. Always will be.

i'd actually prefer marrying an igbo guy only if he grew up in the States. i want my future kids to know about their culture, but i still want them to fit into america's modern society. and i actually want to marry a guy who is a docta, lawya or engineea :russ:. i told myself when i was a lot younger that i would never be like my parents..........but here we are :shaq2:
