I get that it's Hot Take Tuesday every cot damn day of the week on The Coli but brehs... I even get that some players want something fresh.. 'we get it LeBron is the man but we want something NEW... someone NEW!' But my brehs.. it's a SERIES and historical data has value: LeBron is no push-over in the Playoffs.

Does that mean he can't EVER lose? No. It just means that Hot Takes have only so much value when you're dealing with a Jordan-Kobe-esque level player leading a team in the Playoffs.. when they put their mind to winning and reaching the Finals and winning it all

I definitely do think that for the C's and the entire league in some way Irving and Hayward going down pause was a blessing.

Let's look at the big picture: this game sucks without someone like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant or LeBron James around on a team that can be challenged (the Bulls, the Lakers and the Cavs weren't handed championships, they had serious challengers).

Who could GENUINELY carry the torch from LeBron and give us someone to look at and to talk about. These young guns (20, 21) are showing us 'ok.. the league has a bright future.. not all these dudes are Wiggins and KAT'. I'm not mentioning KD because he's a player who is amazing offensively and defensively but he has 2 things against him from being a 'GOAT' level player: 1) he joined a 73-9 team. MJ, Kobe, LeBron never joined teams that beat them the year before. Some are cool with it, some hate his move - but that's just a strike against his greatness. 2) MJ, Kobe (with Shaq I must say!) and LeBron were both the clear leaders of their championship teams - KD is not a leader of his Twitter chatroom. BIG facts.

In the fantasy scenario where this happens EACH game (it won't but ok) I wouldn't even be surprised if this helps LA land LeBron easier since if that road to the Finals is hard af on the East - he might as well live in LA (mad opportunities for him outside of bball) and work hard af to get to the NBA Finals anyway.
