And say you so have a card worth some money, be careful who you sell to. If you try selling to a dealer and they know you don't know what your doing they will thoroughly fukk you. A lot will only give you 10-15% of the book value. They try and sell you some BS about the card depreciating in value due to all a bunch of crap. You could try eBay but good luck getting decent value, it makes hard to get cards that much easier to get this decreasing the value.

Man the whole concept of selling cards is some finesse type shyt. If I owned a major card company that printed limited editions It could be countless ways I could manipulate the market for economic gain
As a matter of fact, the whole sports memorabilia industry is full of counter fitted items and the like. I will take it a step further and say to steer clear from any rare/collectible/antique type shyt, unless you the one doing the finessing

There are no rules for collecting stuff. Collect things you like and do basic market research to ensure you are getting good deals for what you're buying.
If you are looking to make money or have a collection that keeps value over time, that takes a lot more work. Most "collectible" stuff doesn't retain value because eventually, the fad ends and demand decreases and supply increases.

Most of my cards are in mint condition in the plastic sleeves in a notebook haven't been touched in years. Some of the cards are rookie cards now the players are HOF legends like Brady,Mariano Rivera,Derek Jeter I'll hold on to those for a few more years.
