At what point did Scorpion become more popular than Sub Zero?

They tossed SUb Zero in the bushes when they made him lose the mask. Scorpion took the crown ever since. Early on tho I swear Subs and Liu Kang had the crown over Scorpion. Atleast in my area.

Sub Zero was definitely the most popular until the early 2000's.

I think MK4 is when people started rolling with scorpion instead.

Sub Zero is my goat though. I mastered some combos worth him that would knock out 60+ off your life off one freeze.

like someone else said: the min they introduced 2 sub zeros was the start of his decline in popularity....when they did that, they fukked with his fighting style/gameplay since they tried to make the 2 subs different; while they were doing that, they were improving scorpion's style/gameplay....also, when the company made scorpion their logo, the push for him was in full swing....

Only thing Sub Zero had over Scorpion was his own game and it was.

When Sub Zero ripped off ur head in MK1...that fatality damn near singlehandedly sold MK1..he fell off when they removed his mask in MK3..mix that with how ill scorpion was portayed in the MK movie and the rest is history...
