Maybe I misunderstood you, but I don't understand why there shouldn't be a consequence for not paying child support. Whether your underemployed or not there is no excuse.

@Sterling Archer gave me a good answer, but I've seen threads where people complain about getting money taken out their checks for child support too.

I think if we came up with a good alternative to the current system things could change.

Finding work is TOUGH. Like REALLY tough. Sure there needs to be punishment, but in this case, he can't take care of his children from a pine box buried 6ft underground. He was punished, and now it's over.....for eternity. No one won. No one...



This system is messed up, and I find myself being angry at "certain" people daily.

Jail is a place where criminals go to be rehabilitated(supposedly). Please tell me how you "rehabilitate" someone who didn't pay child support by putting them in prison around murderers and rapist?

The mom is still going get bread from the dads social security payout. One of my cousins father died and he was getting like $1300 a month , and this was in the 70s/80s. so that's over $2500 a month when adjusted for inflation.

That's not including situations where the brother was in the military or getting some kind of pension that the mother will get after death.
