The first few seconds of the video was what I was honing in on, which was a reflection of the beat in OP. The Reese Bass doesn’t kick in until a few moments later.
Anyway, thanks for the article. I didn’t know there was a name to that sound or know the origins although I would hear it all the time, especially in artist that I listen to like Burial, whom was posted in the article as an example. I knew it came from House but just not the originator.
