This is how I feel... I cant put Benny over Push right now, but in the next couple years? :patrice:

Especially if Benny albums are all on the level of Tana 3. And it's crazy because that could actual happen if Gunn does retire and Executive Produce his albums :whoo:
I'm sort of of the same mind.

Benny is one of my top 5 emcees in the game right now, easy. But there's something about Push's voice and delivery that I've always thought is super interesting and unique. And I'm kind of a weird producer-ear type fan, and by that I mean a lot of times what really hooks me or makes me a fan of someone is them being unique. And I don't think anyone sounds quite like Push does.

And that makes it hard for me to rank Benny above him yet.

I will say this. Benny's solo catalogue is shaping up to be more impressive than Pusha's. Daytona is great, but it's a 7-track EP basically. And Plugs I Met is also 7 tracks, and IMO is about as good as Daytona. I mean it can be debated. I probably like Plugs I Met more, but I think I'd be in the minority.

But then Benny has Tana Talk 3. Push doesn't have a full length solo album of that quality.

But on the flip side, Benny doesn't have classics from group albums like Hell Hath No Fury and Lord Willing...

Yeah, good debate. It'll be interesting to dig this back up in a couple years. This could be a really fun conversation after Tana Talk 4, Plugs I Met 2, and the MadPush album (Pusha T and Madlib.)

Is it me or do Griselda and their fans always trying to elevate these guys past their talent?! These guys are run of the mill "Bang, bang, nicca die slow" MCs. Their lyrics are so generic it comes off almost as a parody. Black Sopranos?! Fukkin' really?! It's 2020, 1995 wants its style back.
Sorry Griselda fans enjoy the music but it's annoying how you guys try and prop these meh MCs up.

Nope

And I like them both

Pusha T is way more versatile
They're 2 of my favorite rappers but I don't find either to be extremely versatile.

I don't mind though. Redman is one of the true GOATs and isn't versatile either with his subject matter.

But yeah I'm with you. I think Push is slightly more versatile between the 2.

I don’t feel like people know what the phrase “one dimensional” means when they describe certain artists, cause neither one of Pusha and Benny are one dimensional. No Pusha album/mixtape sounds like the next. Same with Benny’s releases.
:skip:

Name one thing Pusha raps about besides coke and the lifestyle it brings breh

Pusha is the home team, but honestly I think Benny is the better overall artist.

Pusha has a more clever pen and is a better flowery wordsmith. He is the pinnacle of his element (coke talk, flossing).

Benny brings more of that struggle perspective with sociological layers a la Nas, BIG, etc. This type of shyt.

That’s why I’d give Benny the nod. They’re both in my current top 5 though.

:dwillhuh:I agreed with you. I said I think Push is more versatile than Benny.

Neither is a 1 trick pony, but when it comes to subject matter they stick to a lot of similar topics.

Edit: damn, the irony compares to my first reply:wow:
