The way I see it is that complements should be rare deeds you do as a man and not something you casually give out. If you tell a family member and some random broad this every day, then it loses value quickly. Another thing is that is that once you do this, it sets out a precedent that they will come to expect from you. Deviate from that and they will make a fuss. As I said before, I only complement genuinely when I think someone deserves it and not throw it out like some cheap validation device. People can spot that fake shyt a mile away, same goes for people who laugh just to be polite.
