Black men how do we convince black women to love their natural hair?

Natural hair being popular amongst the black race would take a pop cultural effort. The biggest black pop culture tour de force is black American men. If we get that movement popping than naturl hair could become a thing in our overall culture

Most black men I know would c00n out when it comes to natural hair. They would be pro black but as soon as a chick has a from or dreads for that matter then go straight . I think most of y'all "idea" of natural hair is this

i quickly picked two females i found attractive (from tumblr) , hair was a criteria but not an extreme choice. If the thread was hair appreciation then i wld have posted a range of hair types.

that's all i'm saying, a little acknowledgement that the women are guilty of it too. when it comes to the one drop rule and being represented by mixed and biracial women, BW make all of the same mistakes we make.

Black women think black men like curly hair more than kinky hair so they do that. How many chicks I knew growing up wanted Chilli's hair? Even jelled down their baby hairs with vaseline too. Black men need to come out and say that's not what they only go for, and showing appreciation for the kinkiest of kinky hair too. And I mean mainstream, we need to see more love from black men for kinky hair. I'm not gonna lie and be like black men appreciate kinky hair because it's only a minority that do in my experience, most black men show a preference for curlier hair. And then these companies that were traditionally geared towards "natural hair" (which has been hijacked by biracials) end up labeling all their products "curly", it breeds even more self hate. Certain "black owned" companies like Shea Moisture even use white kids in their ads now.

this girl at work asked me if I was mixed twice

its like she didn't believe me the first time when I said I was just black. and this older lady always went out of her way to say hi to me. she said I reminded her of her son b/c of my hair, I remember one time she interrupted a conversation she was having with a coworker to compliment my hair cus I was growing it out at the time and dude was looking at me like It was awkward cus I knew what he was thinking

This. Nothing wrong with appreciating both, as far as I am concerned.

I do understand the sentiment though - I don't see as much love for the kinky hair as I do for the curly hair. I say that as someone who has given multiple daps in the Curly hair thread too - maybe we have a responsibility to show more appreciation and encouragement.
