never had that happen. i definitely worked with other blacks who were the grew up around all white people and don't understand black solidarity, but never had someone trying to dog me or sabotage me. i get so happy to see other black people, unfortunately, not one other black person works in my office (there are a couple guys in sales so they're in the field, not in the office often) the shyt is so annoying

I don't discount the possibility, but like the first example, this dude had no more to go on about me then he did about the other people talking to him. I basically got professionally curved before I had a chance to make a bad impression.
Offices talk. Somebody probably gave you a bad rep.

Any of ya'll deal with this?

I work in a medium+ engineering/science company, and I've had too many of these run ins where I meet another black dude and he ice grills me or generally curves my questions/conversation for no apparent reason, yet if I observe them interacting with anyone else, they are :stylin:laughing and shyt.

Example: I went to a presentation for the research branch of our company. They do the bleeding edge shyt. Black dude gave the presentation and invited people to talk 1on1 after the joint was over. I asked this dude 4 questions and he legit answered with a total of 4 words, all the whole looking at me like :comeon::wtb::dwillhuh:. Then the dude behind me, the chick behind him, and the dude behind her (no coco) all got a rousing conversation out of the dude, business card, all that. The chick asked 2 of the SAME questions I asked and the dude asked one of the same. nikka was all smiles and handshakes.

I swear I never wanted to pop the trunk on a nikka in a lecture hall so bad in my life.:birdman:

Another Example: One of logistics dudes around here is a younger black dude. He stays socializing during his routes (he walks around a lot). I had to work with ol' dude a few times, and he starts off with a salty attitude, telling me I need to make sure my forms are in order and shyt. I saw homeboy fills forms out FOR people/tell them not to worry he'd skip that step.

The fukk is going on in professional black america? nikkas really boxing out like that? I ain't saying we need to all be friends, but this shyt is active selection.
I'm :umad: as hell about this shyt.
Its very embarrasing for black corporate america to being doing that..

seen it done a few times...

Sometimes its you are new, they have built rapport with someone else before you thing...

most times, its a c00n thing...

you gotta find young folk and network with them and find an appropriate mentor...

Somethings folk who are cool with hip-hop culture, are cool with you too...and open, not marginalizing

those blacks might be caught in being the only black within the corporate office thing...

or you might be the only black and they know how to properly communicate to or with you...show them

Most times, they are doing what some racist corporate white/person consciously/unconsciously did them and doing it you...

Call them out on it creatively...hold yourself to a standard where you treat everyone the same, dont be the guy, that treats another black person in corporate bad, or look down on black people...

Also, call him out: Where is your business card. I need one.
Also, call him out: While I dont shuck n jive, here is my card, and ask questions about the process, or what you need...
Or when you think he is differentiating, might be that other people are completing different forms, tell him: I suppose that is the process for everyone... I supposed this is how everyone should complete their forms

Seen white subconsciously and consciously marginalize blacks, blacks gotta be bigger in that process and in camaraderie within themselves and among various cultures.

Never happens to me, always get the head nod and :myman: feeling when my people see the dark skin wavey gawd coming through.

They just do not like you. :yeshrug:

I'm not :cape:for OP but you're not paying attention.

The presenter said himself that he would answer questions and goes above and beyond to make whites comfortable but gives one word answers about the project to OP. Thats not just about dislike thats about not keeping your word. When you purposely give better treatment and preference to whites like that you're a sambo.

However OP don't say whats going on in professional black america...you know the game with these white owned companies. The sooner professional black america goes into business for itself the sooner these problems will start disappearing.

Next time I'll give examples that I was in no way a part of or present for.:stopitslime:

And I didn't say it was ALL of my interactions, it's that these things happen enough for me to see it as a problem that I can't seem to control. I'm the last dude to try to blame everyone else for some shyt I do to myself, but I didn't even have the chance to make a bad impression on these bruhs... and I don't generally struggle socially with any race/background, especially not at work.

blacks have to be able to define their own core values in corporate america and create a system that does.
quite frankly, blacks cannot always have a following whitie type of culture with the way they run their own lives, american slavery master-slave context
gotta be pioneers, start own companies, ascend to senior upper middle management...even if its within a american white type of corporation...they has to be system that foster openess
talking CEO type of blacks in upper management, corner office, few assistant types
