Health

According to Census Bureau projections, the 2021 life expectancies at birth for blacks are 70.8 years, with 74.8 years for women, and 66.7 years for men. For non-Hispanic whites, the projected life expectancies are 76.4 years, with 79.2 years for women, and 73.7 years for men. The death rate for Blacks/African Americans is generally higher than whites for COVID-19, heart disease, stroke, cancer, asthma, influenza and pneumonia, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and homicide.

We had a long ass thread of people mostly agreeing that he should work until he dies and take a pay cut.

Between this and Republicans wanting to gut social security, America is trying very hard to go back to how it used to be (white men who owned land could do whatever they want and could choose who was the next president. It was fukk everyone else)

And it's sad and crazy to me that there are people who would be hurt the most by that status quo arguing with people trying to prevent it.

Millionaires are trying to bring back the world to what it used to be:

A company could buy its own army and its own countries(British east India company)

Could run its own town and pay workers only in company scrip that was worthless outside the town.

Children as young as 6 could be put to work and sold off to be housekeepers and God knows what else to whomever wanted to buy them.

They could pollute in peace with no repercussions if there was a massive disaster that kills people(see hawks nest disaster)

There were no unions and you would be expected to work between 16-18 hrs a day and breaks were given if the boss felt like it.

There was no social security of any kind. If you got hurt or sick, too bad. Just die in a corner somewhere or kill yourself.

They're actively trying to turn back the clock to those horrific times, and they've made a focused effort on making sure that labor history is not taught to children. The people who lived through those days are mostly all dead, so there are no living people to say "I lived that life and it was horrible and I'd be damned if I let them bring that shyt back"

So they get to rebrand all this awful shyt.

Companies now have Trillion dollar market caps. They rake in revenue that's higher than thr GDP of many small countries. They'll buy all the usable land in an authoritarian country and resources from that land for pennies on the dollar. Look at Congo. It should be the richest country on earth. It's the real wakanda but yet look at what multinationals have done to it with backing from their home countries. The next step is to just be legally allowed to buy a country like Haiti or Congo.

The company scrip will just be some kind of crypto currency. Tech companies are already building company towns.

Child labor will be called "encouraging entrepreneurship".

Union busting is still happening.

“But I do think it’s a bit crazy that our anchor idea for the right retirement age — 65 years old — originates from the time of the Ottoman Empire,” wrote Fink.

So these CEOs are telling people to eat cereal for dinner, forget the idea of owning a home, and get used to the idea of working to death. :jbhmm:
But never mind the anchor ideas for what a work week should be........ ignore all the other bullshyt so you can focus on your bullshyt........... rogue sniper

This is why there is no Democratic Party anymore. We have a Republican Party and an extremist Republican Party.

Democratic platforms would be calling for shorter work weeks, more vacation time, subsidized healthcare, earlier retirement, taxing these sociopathic CEOs at 75% seeing as how their wealth is extracted from the middle/lower class and not a product of their labor. None of these issues are anywhere on the democrats platform. Instead, both parties serve the interests of the black rocks, AIPACs, multinational corporations etc.

There is no party that represents the American taxpayer. CEO’s like this should be in fear of democrats winning the election just as much as the average person fears republicans winning.
