The 80s was the last stand for the mob. The government and fighting with each other ruined them.Urban legend? I remember as a kid in the 80's the cover of the ny paper had gruesome mob killings on the cover all the time

Interesting this is the sort of 'urban legend' of Italian organized crime, though few have existed in 'reality', but it obviously did occur.
I meant 'urban legend' in terms of the concrete/cement shoes thing.....That was a widely known tactic, but few bodies were recovered, or found like that, obviously that was the point. But, it became more of a 'urban legend' then a reality.
It wasn't an urban legend.. Back in the 20s, 30, 40s allot of the Italians had construction/concrete companies. These were used as a front for killings.. Do you know how many bodies are probably in the foundations of these NYC buildings..
edit: saw the 2nd quote after I posted ... but above explains why they weren't found..

Some nikkas on the coli really need to step outside every once in a while.
Do you know how many bodies they found and unearthed at the Gateway Shopping Complex off the Belt Parkway in East New York?
Bodies encased in metal drums filled with cement, bodies in shallow graves all put their by the mob.
They were still finding bodies after they broke ground on the second phase of the Shopping and housing complex that they are Rapidly seeking to Gentrify.
