Illinois shares a border with Kentucky. Where you don't need a permit or license to purchase handguns. Just have a chic in Kentucky buy handgun - have it reported stolen - take it to Chicago. Pretty easy. I bet the other states around Illinois have lax gun laws too.

Literally just buy these guns - and drive back to Chicago. Combine that with a lot of cars in parking lots and houses having handguns inside them and people stealing those. No wonder so many guns in Chicago.

Difference in NYC for example is 1) Getting caught with an illegal gun is years in prison. Chicago you might not even serve time. And 2) NYC has no surrounding states that let you purchase handguns without a license, permit and registration.

Here in NYC we still get guns trafficked here. 90% of guno used in crimes come from out of state. The I-95 is called by the Pigs as the iron pipeline. Guns from Pa,VA,NC,SC,FL,AL,Georgia get up here pretty easy.
