Robert Downey Jr. is on the verge of signing on to “Captain America 3,” a move that would bring the Civil War storyline from Marvel’s comicbooks to the bigscreen and trigger the start of a new phase of movies from Marvel Studios.

What a coincidence.

The Judge flops and now all of a sudden RDJ is doing more Marvel films.

I'm glad cuz these movies will be awesome. But im also glad this nikka now realizes he's not bigger than Tony Stark

:heh: nikkas out here acting like deals and contracts aint signed months/years in advance

Not this one breh. He's only been signed off for two more movies which are age of ultron and the third avengers flick. Now obviously this isn't something that just happened over the weekend but I'm sure it's not something that he was really thrilled about doing a while ago vs now where he's probably all ears

Oh and for all the cats saying Marvel's CEO isn't petty and makes his decisions solely based on quality of the films and that's why he has a vendetta against Fox:

Originally, Marvel wanted to hire Downey for a small role, which would have required just three weeks of work. But Downey wanted Stark to have a more substantial role in the film’s plot, which would give him more screen time and naturally a bigger payday. This angered Marvel Entertainment chief Ike Perlmutter, who ordered the screenwriters to write Iron Man out of the script entirely, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

They don't have an issue with Sony but they do have one with Fox..reason being? They get merchandising from Sony for Spidey...so most of the money made off of the film's toys, clothes, etc all goes to Disney/Marvel. It was part of the deal that Sony made with Marvel when Marvel wanted to make their own spider-man tv show and get Sony to shutdown the glorious spectacular spider-man
