Something I noticed recently is that the Choir were singing/preaching "get this money black man" before being aired out which symbolized that money won't save you in America. You can be black and poor or black and rich, and America will still swallow you whole.

Also, towards the end we see him dancing on top of the car while singing, "get this money black man", only for the next scene to show him being chased/hunted down by America, to be its latest victim.

Read Thug’s lyrics at the end.

You’re spot on with your analysis. We can’t win playing their game.

:ohhh:

Good point. When XXX did it people laughed at him for trying to be deep.

For the record, Donald is more talented than XXX and much ore capable of executing this concept. But I do find it funny how folks pick and choose who to praise.
Lupe dropped a similar themed video/song last year that nobody talked about either...

The visual is what has people talking about this record. That's why I always get confused when people say music videos don't matter anymore. Clearly they do. Just look at some of the visuals this year alone... God's Plan, The Black Panther videos, Cole's videos, now this one from Childish

:whew:

I'm fukkin' with em

The beauty of ART. Whether it is a painted portrait, or a motion picture, or musical musings. If done right, it can give you a certain mood and feeling without outright it being spoon-fed while allowing you to freely make your own interpretation of the meaning.

It’s “Behold a pale horse” not a pale white horse lol

The white horse and The pale horse are two different symbolic images relating to the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse in the book of revelations

I like the video but these stretches and forced double meanings are what give me pause about praising DG execution of whatever his overall point was supposed to be ... nikkas were in here talking about Trayvon Martin dad in the video yalll this hella deep!!! LMAO

Yo it’s ok to just say you don’t understand something sometimes instead of presenting these concocted left field theories like they are stone cold fact ... especially with such a clearly abstract piece of art that he just gave us ...

Personally my issue isn’t the video as I think it helps expound on his point tremendously especially considering how sparse the lyrics are ... and that’s my issue with breaking this down ... I feel like he’s trying to make a grand statement on the Roman like debilitating “Bread and Circuses” phenomenon that’s happening in our country right now ..but he just doesn’t really say anything LYRICALLY inspiring or poignant enough to make this really resonate with me:yeshrug:

Idk if he purposely made the lyrics choppy and abrupt just as a thematic thing to emulate all of these new “flow rappers” that he features on the hook in order to be “ironic” or if he just didn’t have the right words to say to make his point more fleshed out and deafening :francis:

Either way I do fukk with any artist trying to push the boundaries of creativity and using social commentary to do so ... so S/O TO DG the nikka is trying to shake shyt up and I likes that

What color horse would you use to depict pale?

He used to do that Logic shyt early on...."I'm black but I am not seen as black" :scust:

And he was a knock off weezy lol

He been on fire ever since BTI.

Royalty was dope. Camp was alright. Culdesac was mostly solid for what it was.

Each level he really told his story at that point in his life. I think he really only went wrong trying to recreate Freaks & Geeks.

Well.. pale can be represented using pastels ...traditionally the Pale Horse has been depicted using either a tan color or an aqua like hue such as these pics

300px-Apocalypse_vasnetsov.jpg

The color of Death's horse is written as khlōros (χλωρός) in the original Koine Greek,[28] which can mean either green/greenish-yellow or pale/pallid.[29]The color is often translated as "pale", though "ashen", "pale green", and "yellowish green"[21] are other possible interpretations (the Greek word is the root of "chlorophyll" and "chlorine"). Based on uses of the word in ancient Greek medical literature, several scholars suggest that the color reflects the sickly pallor of a corpse.”

So dylan roof doing a blood ritual is funny :usure: y'all cacs are too easy to spot on these boards:jbhmm:
It's not funny per say but part of what makes the video is the absurdity of it. How it goes from dancing all happy to acts of violence to dancing right away. Stop it. I'm talking especially on first watch since you don't know it's coming. And i don't mean straight up :laff: either. Just the spit water wtf kinda reaction.

Foh. I ain't a cac either.
