It's a kinda a incorrect statement. Keeping it a buck, Africans arent strictly pure humans as well. We mated with archaic groups within africa, but they were still closely related, moreso than neanderthal, but still wasn't quite human.
When I do gedmatch calculators, some show up to 3% paleo and I'm 99% African according to ancestrydna....with my family being from all over the new world.
