Oil keeps the burgers from sticking to the pan, but only enough to coat the bottom of pan.

What kinda savage fry burgers
Most regular ground beef has enough fat that you don't need to have oil. Then if he has a non-stick pan he definitely doesn'*t need it. I can under stand a small coat for leaner meats but even then I would only grease it.
