I don't see it that way. Sharing trauma isn't about being a victim, it's about courage which is a human virtue. We need more people to speak up b/c evil hides in silence.
As for engendering abuse, that needs to stop too. You enable chicks to get away with abuse by ostracizing men who do speak out on this stuff.

There needs to be safe space for women to speak about sexual abuse without people claiming she was fast.

Predators need to know there is no silence corner of shame they can hide in. No community wall of silence and ignorance they can stand behind. I don't condemn people if they choose not to speak out b/c they have a right to take as much time to heal as is necessary. On another note I know I sometimes wax poetic about how great my parents are on this website. It often comes as a surprise to some but growing up I actually resented my parents a lot.

I had a great childhood but my mom and dad were overprotective to a fault and it irritated the hell outta me. They were pessimistic a$$holes too.

Me: "I wanna go to the sleepover."
Them: "You ain't sleeping over nobody house. Do you know them? Go do your damn work!"
Me: "Well can we have a sleepover here?"
Them: "So they can lie on us and say we touched em. Hell no! You can see them aggravating ass chits at school."

Me: "I wanna have a lemonade stand!"
Them: "So somebody can claim they got sick from ur lemonade and sue your silly ass! Go clean that damn fish like I told you."

Me: "Can I go camping with..."
Them: "Get out there in the middle of nowhere and kill you and leave ur body in a damn cave. Go clean your damn room and them damn clothes better be folded in ur drawers."

I was always told "no" lol! But I get it now. I really do. When you have kids you can't trust anybody not even some family around them.
