It does depend on what you think as an athlete, J.W Walsh isn't considered an athlete in the same way as say Mariota, but had a few long runs against FSU. Same for Aaron Rodgers, Jake Waters, Geno Smith, etc. Depends

What I'm saying is athlete is a very BROAD term and at the same time, can be very exclusive.

Some people would use athlete to include the "Marshalls, Vicks, Mariotas, Tebows, Newtons" Those type of true running QBs

Some people include passing QBs who can carry the ball when a play breaks down like you're labeling Jameis Winston or Jeremy Johnson
