On second thought, I dunno brehs. I don't think he can replicate the pain of this album, and I wouldn't at all be mad at him if he couldn't because this is one depressing ass project.

I don't think he has to replicate it though. He's in a different point in his life. I'm sure there is pain to discuss but given that he can feed himself and his family now, it won't be 100% the same and that's a good thing. As long as we don't get a repeat of Old, where the lyrics sometimes felt like an...atrocity exhibition for white hipsters who almost seem to get turned on/entertained by black trauma shyt. I fukked with Old btw, I'm not dissing it as a full project.

Danny is one of the most consistent and best rappers of the last decade to me. I fukk with all his albums. Really liked uknowwhatimsayin because it was a return of ignorant, fun Danny. Atrocity Exhibition was so serious and bleak...I needed to hear the god wax poetic about erectile dysfunction and wild sex again. Pause.

He has a wealth of material to discuss on XXXX. He can talk about getting clean and how he changed up his fashion sense, and his relationship with his wife instead of fukking hoes.. .shyt he really didn't touch on with his last album.

I heard some snippets on IG....sounded boombap-ish

I loved Old, I didnt thinknthe lyrics were trauma porn. He talked about fukked up shyt in the hood but was just being honest and not glorifying it....and he still had shyt that had hope like "clean up". Personally I think the 1st half of Old has some of his best shyt lyrically and the beats were underrated as hell. Atrocity to me was him tryna appeal to hipsters on some post punk alternative shyt and the lyrics were super self pitying. My least fave DB my far

But I agree I think hes the most interesting, consistent rapper of the 2010s. When I tell ppl he's in my all time top 10, they be like :gucci:
