You know i kinda see it from both sides here.
First off X is dead wrong he should gave at least said I'll try. But on the other hand what his son does not realize you can't force an addict to quit. D is a least being straight up and not getting his hopes up cause he knows he's not ready. Came in to say this, read his book and you'll get a glimpse why he got demons. He probably cant connect with his kids cause he didn't have a dad and his moms treatin him like shyt and dropped him off at boarding school for bad kids. She was like we going on a trip, he had no idea what was going on until he got there. Im bout to reread this shyt been like 10 years damn.

A wild speculation & assumptions here, so dont quote me, but maybe the hook up w/ Ruff Ryders was calculated. Dee & Waah came from the Kool Herc tree, was raised muslims & were generally firm & strict. Maybe they figured that was what X needed early on. As said by himself hes always been reckless. Its almost like how some send their child to the military when they start to get buck wild & act up.
The story is that they hooked up in the 80s, which i do believe, if not that then definitely early 90's seeing as it was pressed on his single. I mean he did have a single deal on Ruff House Records..Ruff Ryders - Ruff House? Might be a different legal reason, but maybe not. They were in fact a management label at first.

The fact that DMX is 45 years old makes the video less sad to me
