Upsetting how there's always some type of negative, harmful speculation or sentiment toward educated black people in our community.
Some women posted here claiming to be exceptions and rightfully pointing out all black women aren't lowlifes. I feel that despite the answer to these questions being No, the mere suggestion of such ideas already plants the seed in the minds of some people and carries over into social interaction (unintentionally or not).
I'm not speaking on this thread alone, because this phenomenon happens in real life. Even asking inflammatory questions like this does something negative. People would rather gossip in a despicable fashion about educated/intelligent/successful black people ("are they _something socially unacceptable_?") while the gossip about street thugs is never that damaging ("are they _something bad but still socially acceptable_"). This world is utterly insane sometimes. They turn it into some kind of taboo, something awkward, something to be suspicious of.
Make these threads about all the goons and hoodrats, stop constantly questioning the validity of educated and successful black people.
so we are currently at the sadden state in the black community where we automatically assume that the black FATHERS are not around to: foster a healthy environment for intelligent boys who refuse to play a role just because its trendy. So it is left on the mothers shoulders.
