In a list compiled by Sky Range using data from Forbes, the website has listed the amounts various musicians made per second in 2014.

Thanks to the Beats Electronics deal with Apple, which was announced in May of last year, Dr. Dre towered over the other musicians featured on the “Highest Paid Music Stars In 2014” list. According to Sky Range, the former N.W.A. lyricist made approximately $20 per second in 2014.

Other artists featured at the top of the list include Taylor Swift ($2.03 per second), Justin Bieber ($2.54 per second), Beyonce ($3.65 per second), and Rihanna ($1.52 per second).

In addition to Dre, other Hip Hop artists to make it onto Sky Range’s list include Jay Z ($1.90 per second), Diddy ($1.90 per second), and Drake ($1.05 per second).

Last year, Dr. Dre topped a number of Forbes’ lists including their “Hip Hop Cash Kings 2014” and "World's Highest-Paid Musicians" lists.

According to Forbes’ "World's Highest-Paid Musicians" list, Dre brought in $620 million in 2014 (before taxes).

Although the Compton, California rapper-turned-businessman was the highest-paid musician last year, Dre has kicked off 2015 at the center of a lawsuit filed by Monster against Beats By Dre.

According to Monster CEO Noel Lee, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine "committed fraud in pirating the headphones away from Lee and Monster" with their Beats By Dre headphones.

Beyonce also had a good year when you consider her income came from music rather than tech endorsements -

This was Michael Jackson in 1984 . . all off of music
Estimated earnings: $91 million

Adjusted for inflation: $205 million

Key income sources: Thriller, clothing line, Pepsi endorsement, recorded music back catalogue, publishing royalties

Posthumously
In the five years since Jackson's death, the singer has earned over $700 million more, thanks to the assets he built in his lifetime (namely Sony/ATV and Mijac Music) along with new deals struck by his estate (a record-setting deal with Sony, the documentary film This Is It, and two Cirque du Soleil shows, to name a few). The total since 1979, with inflation, is approaching $3 billion. Above is the spread on the King of Pop's earnings from the June 16th issue of FORBES, based on numbers from Michael Jackson, Inc.

I could care less about Detox at this point. 2001 still bangs and hasn't aged one bit.
