you keep making this silly "first option" point. Why would a team suddenly demand more scoring from a guy whose best attributes are everything else? It's easier to find scoring than it is to find what Draymond does. There's no inherent value in just taking a lot of shots for the hell of it.

All youre looking at is performance in the prism of scoring...which is a crappy way to determine a value of a basketball player. You'd probably take Melo over guys like Deandre and Gobert too.

Listen if we're starting a team and those is the guys that's on the board then yea I am taking Melo.
Now if a team is already established then I'd take those guys before Melo.
But I guarantee you if a GM is building a team and has no players and they have to choose between Melo and Draymond,they picking Melo

The Knicks haven't made it to the playoffs in almost 5 years.
If you put Draymond on the Knicks instead of Melo their defense would improve and so would the ball movement on offense, Porzingis would be much better with a PF that would lead the break and find him trailing on plays for open threes.
