The Cosmos
We don't need planets. We just need a mega ship the size of Texas. Then do a lottery to see who gets in.
I wonder who would control such a lottery. That shyt is going to be rigged.

I love this type of shyt, but the only proof they have looks like a mathematical equations I bet. we will never see or visit that shyt in our life time.
I'm more interested when that start sending probes to europa and titan, something that we could see in our life time.
Add Enceladus to that list.

I was about to post something like this. I wish people would get excited about the possibilities in our own solar system.

Religion has been destroying this planet since day 1.
I hope we dont find any other habitable planets or life forms until we get rid of it
Priority number 1 for our species imo.

We are excited about the opportunities in our system. However, we've finally found a planet that resembles ours, that we can actually send a probe to, not just theorize about.

The greater the difficulty, the bigger and better the solutions, which will make travel within our own solar system relatively simple.

All these responses in this thread need to stop pretending that you can't have hope/love for explorations to Mars, Jupiter, and Proxima B at the same time. Each mission feeds into the success of another mission. Also the truly special aspect of this discovery is that the technique used to find Proxima B, will be expanded to other areas of the sky. In addition, the characteristics of Proxima B will make it easier to look for additional Proxima B:Proxima Centauri type relationships.

Villa Straylight.
How would we know where the wormhole would take us even if we could create it? wouldn't it just be a random area of space?
We'd most likely have to send a probe first. I don't think the act of bending space is an exact science. Only time I've encountered writings about it that don't appear fictional are the Philadelphia experiment and a book called Vodou quantum leap linking Vodoun and quantum phyiscs.

As for us mastering light speed travel or space travel in general? I'm just gonna say that its going to take a LOOOOOOOOONG time long after we are all dead. We're not even a type ONE civilization which is able to use energy on a planetary scale... If we can't do that yet then how can me master space travel?

Consider how far a light year is :wow:.

You turn on the lights in a fat ass stadium at night and it's instantly illuminated. Light travels at 186,282 miles per second

Now imagine something so far away it takes light a fukking YEAR to reach it.:sadcam:
