The whole “control your narrative” stuff he was doing made sense if he was going to different promotions and wrestling being a freelancer but it loses all meaning once he signed a long term contract with a company in my opinion.

I thought so too. He's already been in ROH long enough to have 2 lengthy feuds & form a tag team.

how are his promos nonsensical?
ass? have you heard a promo from any wrestle in any promotion in the last 20 years? we are in the abyss of trash promo work and EC3 while not an amazing in ring performer is still one of the best talkers by far.
he falls into the category with Miz, Eddie Kingston, Bray Wyatt for me where i'm 100% tuned in until the bell rings.
