I didn't say shyt about runsI meant to address it but forgot. Either way, my feelings towards "runs" are pretty much "no one gives a fukk." LL Cool J had a hell of a run but you don't see posters praising LL constantly.
The quality of your discography is all that matters when the dust settles.
this board in general is too new for LL. that's why he doesn't get his props on here.
runs are extremely vital.
and as far as catalogs go, LL has 3 major classics. not to mention a gang of other quality releases.

My point is that any new generation can't experience 'runs'. All they can experience is discography because that's what really matters at the end of the day. When the dust settles, that's all you can hear. The hype is mostly gone so the music has to speak for itself.
At one point, DMX was THE biggest rapper in the game. HUGE. Had a crazy lil run. Do you think any of the new generation can respect that? How would they? They weren't around. BUT they can go back to X's first album and listen to it. Then they'll hear how dope he was and maybe it'll click for them.

How would one come to that conclusion unless they just had just discovered rap post 2000 as a 40 year old man. Talking bout streets and culture with no actual connection to either of it.
