Europe is more into underground emcees, thats what he means. Someone like one be lo would get more love and sell out then some plastic radio nikka out today.
They have an appreciation for quality vintage hip hop, and dont readily discard an old but good artist because there's a new fad going around the kids are doing.
Old hip hop acts that no one books in the US are eating very well touring in Europe.
I've never seen artists shytting on Europe, they're ALWAYS bigging them up - and they're really the only ones whose opinions matter in this case.

I'll say this underground MCs and old school hip hop acts get way more love out in Europe. Especially the Baltic areas. So in terms of that he's not really wrong.
