Wait so 5'9/5'10 is short now?

:lupe:

Haven't you heard... 6'0 or better is tall and a lot of women won't deviate from that requirement.

In all seriousness, it's like a previous posted stated... when you meet that standard, you don't experience the denigration like others that do. At 5'11, most women won't make a peep about my height, however, I do experience it with medium and taller women(5'7 or more, especially the 5'10-5'11 women) that sulk about having to date men as tall as them(not even shorter than them) because all of the shorter women with height requirements want the same men.... and are getting them

their reasoning.. The heel defense.... which has nothing to do with building and maintaining a successful relationship.

This thread lit and I didn't read through most but all I'm gonna say is.

Height = something your genes determine. People have no control over it
Complexion = something your genes determine. People have no control over it (unless dem dey bleach :mjpls:)

Why is it acceptable to have a preference for one but not the other?
The only time I hear of women giving a height preference, they're usually 14, with a stank attitude. I don't hear normal grown women seriously say they only date tall men.

If it's not the heel defense, it's they want to "feel protected". And if it's not that excuse, it's because they care more about what their girls think than what kind of guy he is.

You can't complain about dudes who have skin tone/weight preference imo.:yeshrug:

As a light-skinned woman I don't have a dog in this fight :yeshrug: but studies have shown that people equate height on males with masculinity, the ability to protect etc. Much like female animals prefer larger males of their species, as her offspring will inherit those genes and have a greater ability to survive. Height preference could be said to be due to biological imperative.
What exactly does having a partner with light skin provide?:sas1: Oh yes, in this society lighter skin is considered more beautiful, and people want beautiful children.
It's fine if you prefer lighter skin but sometimes it is the result of being brainwashed by society, just admit that. :manny: There is no biological imperative to preferencing light-skin.

Well this is a perfect example of first world problems. As a good looking dark skin black woman you're exempt from the cruelness of colorism that the average and busted dark skin chicks go through. Do the rules of colorism play a part on you? Yes, but since you're above average in looks and value(face, curves, c or d cup titties, in shape, weave, and an education) it has no real effect on you.

Worrying about colorism to the extent that you do is pointless. It isn't your battle, and you shouldn't be trying to fight other people's(busted dark skin women) battles. A good looking dark skin Asian, Hispanic, or Indian woman doesn't fight their men about colorism in their communities(even though it is worse than ours) so why are you? Quit trying to be some freedom fighter for something you do not really even have to go through or face.

This is not a good argument breh. It's like saying a successful black person doesnt have to worry about racism because they have a good job, nice home, stable family, etc, the logic behind both is the same

The heel defense is the most commonly used. Yeah, you'll hear those (excuses)as well. Regardless, it's not conducive.

I'm 5'0 and I've liked guys who were short like a few inches taller than me, tall, never over 6'2. I don't think I could do taller

I have weight preferences though. I'm thin so I prefer average to thin men.

I'm 5'9

:leostare: who alias are you
Wtf they were talking about you like you were a dwarf crackhead :mjlol: that isn't short especially if you have that Mike Tyson, Canelo Alvarez, or Ray Rice type build. I.E. much bigger than guys several inches taller than them. A Kevin Garnett or Chris Bosh build is worse.

a preference for lightness within a racist system is a symptom of that system. This is literally the basis of colorism issues in the black community in the first place. Light=right, dark=ugly/bad. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're a c00n or a whatever else. It just means that you didn't grow up within a vaccuum and that the world around you had an effect on your perception of beauty. Dassit. It'd be the same way if you grew up within a system that said that dark skin was a sign of beauty/virtue.

Most men are around the same height, the whole height thing is really Hollywood based

I've seen quite a few threads where guys talk about their height preferences. I'm not sure if you spend a lot of time in TLR or JBO, but its fairly common.
I also know a lot of guys who have height preferences.
And I'm not the one comparing, OP is. I was saying the comparison was garbage, and it still is.
Colour preference = colour preference
What's hard about that? :what:
Here we go with the disingenuous shyt again. Most dudes that have a dating profile say they don't want a short short chick? Do boys clown you for having a bad jawn that's short? Where the fukk did I ever say dude never care about it. I said its not nowhere near the level of girls. Also another nikka need to stay off the nets and meet some friends offline. You telling me most of your boys turning down girls over height like girls? Save your smilie the comparison is on point your the one being stupid that's whats so hard about that. Most dudes aren't worrying about no fukking heights outside of the extremes. That's not the same as a chick 5'3 saying a has to be taller than her with heels on. What community college you goto that let you through? Smdh
