I read the entire thread. Every single post. The sad part about me reading this whole thing is that I have no dog in the hunt because I'm an average-height man. I'm also fairly dark-skinned. Yet, the thread was (oddly and surprisingly) worth the read.

Although I hate to side with dudes who may be insecure and have color issues, the majority of female posters in this thread are making those dudes look like intellectuals. As has been said repeatedly, if you're a woman who overlooks/refuses to date men because they're too short, there's no logical reason for feeling some type of way if a man refuses to look your way because of you're too dark (or too light). Height and skin color are unchangeable characteristics.

It's sad that people from both genders demand perfection from the other side but are far from perfect themselves. In 2015, we need to get our priorities straight when it comes to dating and relationships. Women always complain that they're no eligible black men but then some don't even consider some men because he's an inch or two shorter than their expectations. Likewise, men cry for marriage-worthy women but then some refuse to be seen with a woman who's too dark. When we get caught up in our preferences we not only diminish the value of another person, we cheat ourselves out of potentially meeting somebody special. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. There are a lot of bitter Brians and hurt Harriet in this thread who simply don't know as much as they think they do.

Unless you're an Idris Elba or a Paula Patton, don't feel that you're entitled to someone who meets your laundry list requirements for your significant others. Strong, positive relationships are based on love for another REGARDLESS of that person's imperfections/idiosyncrasies/habits. People demanding perfection from another just to enter into a relationship with that person will find themselves lonely.

Well this is a perfect example of first world problems. As a good looking dark skin black woman you're exempt from the cruelness of colorism that the average and busted dark skin chicks go through. Do the rules of colorism play a part on you? Yes, but since you're above average in looks and value(face, curves, c or d cup titties, in shape, weave, and an education) it has no real effect on you.

Worrying about colorism to the extent that you do is pointless. It isn't your battle, and you shouldn't be trying to fight other people's(busted dark skin women) battles. A good looking dark skin Asian, Hispanic, or Indian woman doesn't fight their men about colorism in their communities(even though it is worse than ours) so why are you? Quit trying to be some freedom fighter for something you do not really even have to go through or face.

I had a white professor who told me that if a white person understands the system of racism & cautiously chooses to not care about change for the injustices that people of color go through, then you can label that white person as a racist. My professor told me that 4 years ago & it stuck with me because that's probably the realist thing someone has ever told me in my life.As a black person, let alone a Black woman,I feel that it is my duty to fight for what's right for people who look like me, knowing that the system is set up for us to fail.

I am not a black men, but recently this black dude with dreads told me that he felt that Black men with dreads are stereotyped by the police. No, I will never know what life is like as a Black man with dreads but I listened to him and empathized with him.I'm not going to not give a f*ck because I am not a Black man with dreads.
I have a room mate that is a light skin black girl who I can talk about colorism with. She may not be dark skin but she empathizes with me because we are both black women. She tells how some dark skin guys talk sh*t about dark skin girls to her as a way to "please," her & she doesn't understand why they do that. It's a turn OFF BTW for any of you "men," on here that do that.:sas2: But she knows it's wrong. She cares because she is Black & she is not against me and I am not against her.She is for me and my progress.& I feel as a black person you should fight for the equality of other Black people.

F*ck you all who are removing my reputation, you are shallow, & ignorant,Everything I'm speaking is f*cking piff.I've got plenty of daps in this thread because those people KNOW what's up,the rest of you can f*ck off.

False equivalency. The system is set up for both LIGHT and DARK black women to fail.

:duck:On this story. I don't see you all up in these police brutality threads, the way you are in these colorism threads. No, you will not ever know the life struggles of a brother with locks. But, you also do not know the struggles of busted dark skin chicks. Yet, you fight for them all the time. You sure are picking and choosing which battles to fight.

I thought according to you black men pit dark and light sistas against each other :heh: ? So, how are you friends with one all of the sudden? You sure are being two-faced with her then, she ought to know the way you be talking shyt about light skins online when she is not around. And :pachaha:At her telling you it's a turnoff when black men compliment her light skin. She's only saying that to make you feel more secure. Those light skin girls eyes light up when you call them a Yellabone/Redbone. I just called a Lightskin girl a Yellabone as an opener last night and it helped get my foot in the door in the conversation to close her:bryan:

She's probably saying behind your back "This dark skin 'bytch' is always complaining about colorism to me. Girl, I think she hating on me forreal:usure:!" You don't believe me? Then you should put a recorder down in her room. I bet the tape will show her on the phone talking that shyt :sas2: You've already gassed her head up by letting her know you're insecure about colorism. @christinasade can confirm that those hoes got a mouth

Notice how some women in this thread are crying for empathy and equality when women are discriminated against based on skin color yet don't say anything when women ignore/overlook men because of their height. Where'd all that empathy talk go?

When the shoe's on the other foot....:sas2:

Anyone who daps this post is a f*cking lying ass idiot.

Not true. I feel sorry for short men especially the ones that aren't that good looking. It's extra hard for them.

But your main concern was that men discriminated against women because of their skin tone. I think this is the first time you've said in this thread that you feel sorry for short men. Could be wrong though.
