They're not going to give up on a season before it starts. It's week 6 and Fitz is pulled, what more could you have possibly expected?

The Jets have vets on that team that are ready to win now especially on offense. The structure of this team is so flawed..

You think any of the young Jets receivers give a damn about Fitz lucky 2015? Enunwa was visibly PISSED on Monday. He wasn't on some "but 2015 doe!!"

The Jets went all in with their cap room two years ago for last year and this year. It's a quick fix that doesn't provide suistainable success. The Jets are now a mess and as usual it begins and ends with the owner.
I feel like the front office held out so long and were praying somebody else would sign Fitz, so that they could go with the plan you mentioned.
They might have felt like they couldn't not bring him back if he wasn't signed based on what he did last year and the perception across the board that would have come with it. Didn't want to go into the season with that.
