Recording of A Bronx Writer's History (1968โ1978), a panel discussion on early Bronx graff history in memory of Daniel J. Bonterre/Dr. Soul 1 of The Ebony Dukes, held at the Museum of Bronx History on November 30, 2023. The moderator is STAFF 161 of The Ebony Dukes, the first graffiti crew in The Bronx. A tribute video to Dr. Soul 1 and a presentation by Evaristo Roman of The Ghetto Brothers set the scene for the discussion.
Panelists include CHARMIN 65, RIFF 170, CHAYNE 3, FDT 56, COMET, and Al Dรญaz (BOMB 1). Many pioneering graff writers were present in the audience, including MIKE 171, SJK 171, and ROCKY 184 of WC 188, BUTCH 2, BOT 707, BOM 5, and others. Panelists discuss their entry into the writing world, various early practices and techniques, influential early writers, and much more.
