October 19 marked 30 years since Kool DJ Red Alert first debuted on the radio, at the now defunct 98.7 Kiss FM. Since his debut, Red Alert has influenced an entire generation of DJ's and radio personalities. To commemorate this, Flex honored Red on his Saturday night show celebrating the 30 year anniversary.

Red Alert was really the first DJ I could remember who did both the clubs and radio. Of course its the norm today, but to hear Red say, "See y'all at the Latin Quarters" at the end of the show, was kind of unheard of back then. He was really the first dude to bring the clubs to the radio, which gave him the edge over the competition
