Keep in mind Jofferey is still the king. He could have Tywins head cut off just like Ned Stark if he wanted. Tywin had to act subtle to protect his ass because he knew he was dealing with a crazy ass boy king.

Tywin still came off as the alpha in that exchange.

Tywin sonned the shyt out of Joffrey. I know this show is usually a lot more graphic and overt with the sonning....like Jaime getting his hand cut off....or Theon getting tortured....but Joffrey is the king and Tywin talked to him like the little ass boy he is. When Tywin stepped up the last few stairs to the throne Joffrey was

The whole Jaime arc is kinda The first impression we have of him is he fukks his sister and tosses little kids out windows. I understand they're trying to add some depth to his character but they waited too long.

Over all the ep was though, wasn't wack or anything but most shows no matter how good they are have 1-2 eps where you can tell they're building towards what comes next. This was just one of those eps.

There was nothing in that scene that suggested he could control Joffery

Would you talk to Joffrey like Tywin was talking to him?

Go back to the scene & look at the body language. Tywin's standing over him, Joffrey's sitting down & backing away. Twyin has to son Joffrey in a subtle way or else he'd have him killed. Even still, Joffrey flinched when Tywin came up the stairs, that was him knowing that Tywin was still his elder. No grown man would let another man walk up on him like that.

This whole exchange makes Joffrey look like a little kid. Robert wouldn't let Tywin stand over him like that.
