My recap of the Show:
Edit: :francis:
MATT fukkING RYAN
: :blessed:
He's probably the coolest QB in the NFL. Can't find anything negative to say about this guy. Did you see the way he boss'd into the WR's meeting. Had the coach pull up two plays, and told Harry Douglas "you were right, I was wrong" :dahell:
When does a QB EVER say that? Then he basically made a mental adjustment and told Harry he would make the throw to him if he runs the route the exact same way next time. Then dipped outta the meeting, probably to go watch some more film. Brehs, this was after a PRESEASON game. The first one at that. They cut to Roddy White during the meeting, and he was just :pachaha: like "that's my QB".
Harry Douglas' wife: :banderas: for the record, Harry Douglass seems like a regular dude who you can tell, loves his wife. Did ya'll peep how awkward he was acting when Roddy put them on the spot after practice?
IMG_0112-Web.jpg

Mike Tice: Seems like a pretty good coach, I believe he'll have our lineman coached up. But did you see the way he dapped up Roddy white in the beginning of the episode?
It was hella weird and shyt, and yes, I agree with the other posters who think he's trying to work his way in favorably with Arthur Blank, and some of the other vets. :comeon:

Roddy White: Always had love for Roddy, but even more after watching him on hard knocks.
shyt had me like :russ: when Babineaux Slapped him in the chest. Dude said it felt like his soul left his body!! :laff:
I went to a practice last year, and pretty much every thing you see on HK is what Roddy does at practice. He'll walk over, talk shyt to the Defense, come back on Offense, run like, ONE play, then he's right back talking shyt! :russ:

Looking forward to next week :obama:

HOUSTON —

The Falcons have been a ratings hit for HBO.

To-date, the first episode of HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks: Training camp with the Atlanta Falcons’ has attracted just over 3 million viewers, which will continue to grow through additional Linear, On Demand and HBO GO viewing.

The viewership of episode one, which aired on Tuesday, Aug. 5, featuring the Falcons exceeds last year’s week one viewing of ‘Hard Knocks: Training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals,’ which attracted 2.7 million viewers.

The top five markets for viewing were Atlanta, Dayton, Kansas City, New Orleans and Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne.

Hard Knocks has won 11 sports Emmy Awards since starting in 2001. The Falcons are on the ninth edition of the show.

So we didnt improve from last year?:what:

We potentially got better at DT, but keep in mind that neither Tyson Jackson or Paul Solali wert brought in to pass rush, so they better be DOMINANT vs. the run b/c they were the two FA pickups. Still don't have a pass rush. Hageman & Osi is a question mark b/c ones a nutcase & the other is past his prime. Linebackers are still meh (Bartu/Worrilow/Biermann?) I don't really think we got better overall...we added depth but still lack playmakers outside of Tru & maybe Babs.

If this defense ends up in the top 20 I'd be thrilled...what are you expecting them to be?

Decoud gone- addition by subtraction

2 run stoppers for a defense that was near the bottom in rush yards allowed.

2 starting lbs(worrilow n bartu) come back bigger and a yr of experience

kroy back, not that he is a big time player but he adds to the lb depth

im optimistic about mass, maponga, and goodman taking the next step. With the middle of the dline improved, that will only help the 3 above as well as osi who did come away with 7.5 sacks last yr.

Our cbs arent rookies anymore

look even if we had a true big time pass rusher, thats what? 1 sack a game. That aint enough to solve our defensive woes. I'll take a bunch of guys getting 4-5 sacks each.

No more getting gashed with runs and no more being able to step up in the pocket.

I see us being average AT LEAST because nolan got his pick of players for HIS defense. Those are the players he wanted to make his scheme work. That is an improvement in my eyes.

all I hear is pass rusher. Let these young boys cook because every other aspect of the defense is better than last

Worrilow & Bartu aren't impact players on defense...when none of your LB's are impact players that makes a difference. Worrilow & Bartu should both be better, but I don't know how much better to expect them to be. They got a lot of tackles after contact had been made last yr & they're both still a question mark covering RBs or athletic TEs.

An elite DE/pass rush allows you to scheme and play all types of defenses...it's not even about a sack, it's about what type of pressure that DL can put on the opposing team, which in turn helps the overall team defense.

Osi is washed, he'll be a situational DE/LB but that's our best pass rusher. That's not good breh

I can't see anything higher than 20 and that's if EVERYTHING goes well. Ultimately I hope you're right and I'm completely wrong, but no way this defense is close to top 15

Maybe im being overly optimistic. Im comparing this defense to the one we had last yr. There is no doubt our biggest need is pass rusher, which we will definitely make a priority next yr.

We will see what happens this year with a whole offseason of emphasis on tackling and toughness. i cant be the only one who sees a big difference in personality of this team from hard knocks to that first preseason game.

no more easy 1st downs on 3rd and 1 for our defense :blessed:

HOUSTON —

Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant continued his strong camp with two solid days of practices against the Texans.

“I’m playing with a lot of confidence,” Trufant said. “Just working on the little things. I’m expecting big things this year.”

Trufant had a strong day on Thursday as he had an interception and batted down several passes before leaving the field briefly with cramps.

“I’m good, I just cramped up a little bit at the end,” Trufant said. “I got a pick. A couple of bat downs. It was all good.”

Trufant enjoyed practicing against Houston wide receiver Andre Johnson on Wednesday. Johnson didn’t practice on Thursday. Trufant also spent some time on Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins.

“This was good,” Trufant said. “Just seeing different routes, different styles and different route concepts has been good. We are just learning more.”

He tried to pick Johnson’s brain.

“He didn’t practice, but I talked to him,” Trufant said. “There was some mutual respect. He obviously played against my brother for years. He’s a great receiver.”

Trufant is adjusting his game for the 5-yard contact rule being a point of emphasis this season.

“They are making the game a lot tighter now,” Trufant said. “You just have to focus on your technique more. We are still going to be physical.”
