It's more than this game...they've been blowing alot of big leads for months...this is becoming a trademark of this team...
Every time the raptors lose its the same thing, blowing a big ass lead never learn their lesson and in the playoffs will be exposed and beaten

Raptors are 18th ranked defense since January 1st (30 games)
Not exactly a small sample size breh...The D has been slipping for a good minute and for a team to be that lost defensively with 1 month to go in the season and a supposed "defensive guru" as ur head coach is not good...

D just seems to be getting worse and worse. Not feeling to confident about close games in the offs. Team gets real tight.

I dont need to wait for DeMarre,i saw him already he didnt move the needle defensively and he was shootin like shyt....Lets put this BS to bed Akhi...The starting front court is atrocious as is DD defensively and now James Johnson is indifferent...
The team is not going to become a defensive powerhouse because DMC back in the lineup,they stink as a collective and that wont change that by himself we've all seen that already earlier in the season...Its a moot point.
This team will live and die with Kyle and Demar not DMC...They played like shyt in the second half and demar especially is a negative defender at his position and causes this team lots of issues,he needs to score 25+ and get to the line 15 times to off set the straight line drives he gives up nightly...
They lost cuz theyre two stars played like shyt and that includes the defensive side of the ball,youre a muthafukkn goof if you think one man will fix that...

In the games he was functional, yes he quite clearly did. It's going to relieve a lot of pressure from not only the perimeter defenders, but there'll be less shyt the bigs have to contest in the paint/at the rim.
How can they stink as a collective when they've been a top-10 defense for 90% of the season, without their best perimeter defender? Any team in the league would be going through similar struggles if they too were missing arguably their best defender.
Of course this team lives and dies with Lowry/DeRozan, that doesn't even need to be said. Point is, DMC is going to cover a lot of holes in the defense and allow the team to develop more consistency on that end. If you're of the belief that Demar is a net negative defender and causes the team issues on that end, how won't the return of a healthy DeMarre help fix most of those issues?
DeMarre will have an effect on the whole team, because everyone will have less defensive duties to deal with - therefore having a domino effect on how the team functions on both sides of the ball.

They were a top 10 Defense for 2 months,they been 18th ranked for 2 months...
